In Dublin: Chinese brothels set to open up across Ireland

The Chinese brothels that have opened up in Dublin are set to take off across the country following a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions not to prosecute two establishments operating in the capital.

As part of a Garda investigation, officers raided both establishments and in one found a man naked on a massage table.

Detectives traced the organisation of the two brothels in Dun Laoghaire to another brothel operating in the Fairview area of the north city. There they found a Chinese man in his 50s who had extensive operating details for the brothels which have sprung up across Dublin in the past two years. Most appear to be centrally organised and offer similar services.

However, following revelations in this newspaper, the women working in the brothels stopped openly offering their services and, it is understood, when a detective asked what services were on offer the girl in question made no reply other than “massage”.

The use of the euphemism rather than the open offer of sexual services appears to be the point on which the DPP has decided that it would not be possible to prosecute the cases in court.

The three young women and middle-aged man have been informed that charges are not to be brought.

As a result it seems that the traditional laws against prostitution in Ireland have fallen and so long as prostitutes do not openly offer services directly to clients at brothels they are free to operate.

The remaining vice laws that can be used concern only the promotion and making of earnings from prostitution contained in two acts of the Oireachtas passed in 1993 and 1997. These laws were used in combination to prosecute the magazine In Dublin in 2000 after it was found to be making €400,000 a year in advertising revenue from brothels in the city.

Since then the advertising of brothels has moved to the internet, though one publication in Ireland still carries up to three pages of adverts for Chinese “massage” centres.

Ironically, the new prostitution operations in Ireland have largely pushed aside the indigenous sex workers, particularly in Dublin. A former prostitute in Dublin who spoke to the Sunday Independent said that the Government and gardai are operating a form of discrimination against Dublin street walkers, who are regularly arrested.

The offence of soliciting or importuning in a street or public place for the purposes of prostitution under the 1993 Criminal Justice (Sexual Offences) Act is still regularly prosecuted by gardai, generally resulting in fines or short terms of imprisonment.

Despite these minor cases no major prosecution appears to be under consideration into the very major organised brothel operations in Ireland which are generally controlled from abroad.

In Canada: All men watch porn, scientists find

Scientists at the University of Montreal were conducting a study comparing the views of men in their 20s who had never been exposed to pornography with regular users.  But their project stumbled at the first hurdle when they failed to find a single man who had not been seen it.

All men watch porn, scientists find

“We started our research seeking men in their 20s who had never consumed pornography,” said Professor Simon Louis Lajeunesse. “We couldn’t find any.”  Although hampered in its original aim, the study did examined the habits of those young men who used pornography – which would appear to be all of them.

Prof Lajeunesse interviewed 20 heterosexual male university students who consumed pornography, and found on average, they first watched pornography when they were 10 years old.  Around 90 per cent of consumption was on the internet, while 10 per cent of material came from video stores.

Single men watched pornography for an average of 40 minutes, three times a week, while those in relationships watched it 1.7 times a week for around 20 minutes.  The study found that men watched pornography that matched their own image of sexuality, and quickly discarded material they found offensive or distasteful.

Prof Lajeunesse said pornography did not have a negative effect on men’s sexuality.  “Not one subject had a pathological sexuality,” he said. “In fact, all of their sexual practices were quite conventional.  “Pornography hasn’t changed their perception of women or their relationship, which they all want to be as harmonious and fulfilling as possible,” he added.

Woman discovers she’s allergic to her husband… on their wedding night

In America: A new wife was given a nasty wedding night surprise when she discovered she was allergic to her husband’s sperm.

Mike and Julie Boyde had been going out for two years when they got married and decided to have unprotected sex for the first time that evening. But almost immediately the bride was in unbearable pain – and eventually they discovered it was because of Mike’s sperm.

Now they have been forced to abandon their plans of conceiving a baby as it seems her own body destroys the sperm.

Mike, 27, and Julie, 26, from Ambridge, Pennsylvania, started going out while at university and became engaged two years later, finally having a dream wedding in 2005.

But following the reception, as they enjoyed their first night as a married couple, things went badly wrong. ‘Before we were always very careful and used protection – this time we didn’t,’ said Julie, 26. ‘We figured, “we’re married, if we get pregnant, we get pregnant”.’

The couple's dreams of having children were shattered - they are now looking to adopt[The couple's dreams of having children were shattered - they now hope to adopt]

But she added: ‘Pretty much right after I knew something was not right because I was in a lot of pain. ‘The pain that I was feeling was inside, like somebody sticking needles up inside of me like a real painful burning. ‘It was really scary.’ The pain, and at times blisters, would go on for weeks, she said.

‘On a scale of one to ten, it’s pretty much ten,’ she said, describing the pain.

After numerous tests and doctors visits, the couple were eventually told that Julie suffers from seminal plasma hypersensitivity.

Dr Andrew Goldstein said: ‘The body recognizes the sperm as a foreign protein, like it would recognize a peanut allergen or a pollen so you have swelling, you have itching, you have inflammation of the nerve endings.’

It means that her body attacks Mike’s sperm, making it inactive.

The discovery shattered their plans to conceive.  But now, after a treatment failed, they have started adoption proceedings. The couple are featured in a Discovery Health documentary called Strange Sex, airing in the U.S. this week.

Oral sex keeps male fruit bats keen

Female short-nosed fruit bats have been observed performing fellatio on their partners during copulation. Mating pairs spent more time copulating if the female did so.

Cynopterus sphinx live in south-east Asia. The males often roost with small groups of females. Min Tan of the Guangdong Entomological Institute in Guangzhou, China, and colleagues captured 30 male and 30 female short-nosed fruit bats in Yuexiu Park in Guangzhou City and observed their mating behaviour in enclosures.

The bats copulate dorso-ventrally, with the male mounting the female from behind. During mating, the females reached over to lick the base of the male’s penis in 14 of the 20 pairs that copulated. The tip of the penis had already penetrated the female’s vagina, and the males did not withdraw when the female licked the base of the penis.

Both the duration of an individual copulation, and the overall time a mating pair spent copulating, were increased if the female performed fellatio.

Tufts University: No sex in room while roommate is present

A new policy at Tufts University prohibits students in dorms from having sex while their roommate is in the room, according to the university’s 2009-2010 student handbook.

The Massachusetts university’s formal rule also bars so-called “sexiling” — exiling a roommate from the room so the other roommate can engage in sexual activity.

The new policy “is really about consideration and respect for others and the need for students to be mindful of their roommates’ need for privacy, study and sleep,” university spokeswoman Kim Thurler told CNN.

She said while she did not have an exact number of complaints from students about their roommates’ behavior, “over the last few years, the Office of Residential Life and Learning received approximately a dozen expressions of concern about this issue.”

Callie Morton, a freshman at Tufts, told CNN affiliate WHDH-TV, “If someone is going to go and have sex while their roommate is in the room, I mean I think that’s kind of gross. I think it’s kind of funny that they would have to make a rule about it.”

The new guidelines for students hosting overnight guests say, “You may not engage in sexual activity while your roommate is present in the room. And sexual activity within your assigned room should not ever deprive your roommate(s) of privacy, study, or sleep time.”

Other students agree that the new rule is going to be difficult to implement.

“I don’t think it’s something that can really be enforced per se,” an unidentified Tufts University student told WHDH. “I don’t understand how that’s going to work.”

Thurler explained that if a problem is identified and brought to the attention of residence officials, the university will help the affected student have a conversation with his/her roommate to address the situation.

“In some cases, we might intervene on behalf of the student,” Thurler said, “and speak with their roommate directly and explain what is expected of them while they live in the residence halls.” Thurler wouldn’t comment on possible disciplinary action by the university if a student breaks the rules.

Egypt anger over virginity faking; become a virgin again for €10!

A leading Egyptian scholar has demanded that people caught importing a female virginity-faking device into the country should face the death penalty.

Abdul Mouti Bayoumi said supplying the item was akin to spreading vice in society, a crime punishable by death in Islamic Sharia law.

The device is said to release liquid imitating blood, allowing a female to feign virginity on her wedding night.

There is a stigma about pre-marital sex in some conservative Arab societies.

The contraption is seen as a cheap and simple alternative to hymen repair surgery, which is carried out in secret by some clinics in the Middle East.

It is produced in China and has already become available in other parts of the Arab world.

The device is reported to be on sale in Syria for $15.

Professor Bayoumi, a scholar at the prestigious al-Azhar University, said it undermined the moral deterrent of fornication, which he described as a crime and one of the cardinal sins in Islam.

Members of parliament in Egypt have also called for banning import of the item.

Electrolux’s Jessica Shi Jing’s scandal

The name 石靖 who is  alleged to be Jessica Shi Jing, an administrative assistant to a senior Electrolux executive in China shot up to become the most popular search term at the Baidu and Google search engines. There are different versions of her story, and it is hard to tell truth from fiction.

Some of these photographs are regular poses by the woman, either at work or leisure.Another more daring series featured the woman in bikini inside a room, Maybe a former-sexual love.

A 42-year-old American man named Robert Kugler had a photo album, which contained photographs of other women as well (use Google to search for “jessica_confidentially site:pbase.com” and click on the cache). Shi Jing was one of the girls, and those photographs were taken when they went on vacation together in Hainan. This photo album was broken into and the photographs were extracted and distributed so as to accumulate millions of viewings within a few days. There are other netizens who believe that the photographs came from Don Gadsen, the top man for Electrolux in China, and Robert Kugler is only a friend acting as the ’smokescreen.’

Zonaeuropa.com published a more indepth story about this matter:

The name 石靖 recently shot up to become the most popular search term at the Baidu and Google search engines.

Jessica Shi Jing is an administrative assistant to a senior Electrolux executive in China.  There are different versions of her story, and it is hard to tell truth from fiction. Some of these photographs are regular poses by the woman, either at work or leisure.

Another more daring series featured the woman in bikini inside a room.

And then there are the Category 3: Obscene photographs at Discuss.com.hk and any number of other websites.

The first version of the story was that Shi Jing published those photographs herself.  According to a blog post that is allegedly written by her: “Since my parents did not give me a pretty face, I could not become a model.  But that is still a dream of mine.  Therefore, I got a friend to take those photographs.  I don’t mind if there are consequences such that the photographs being disseminated across the Internet, or that it may give some new and perverse excitement to certain people.  I think that it is worth it.”  However, the blog has been deleted.  It is doubtful that Shi Jing wants to promote herself in that way, because her job position does not require her to become “red hot” through this type of exposure.  But in another purported blog post, she wrote: “I am willing to live with poisonous snakes.  This continues to give me courage and resist the discrimination in the world.  I am destined to follow my own path, even if it is a path with no return.”

The second version is that Electrolux is trying to become better known through hyping.  Indeed, Electrolux crashed into the top 10 search terms together with Shi Jing.  But this is not credible.  As an international brand, Electrolux could not conceivably choose negative publicity in order to increase brand awareness and recognition.  A variation of this version is that Electrolux seized the opportunity to hype this affair once it became known and Shi Jing was just an innocent victim caught in the Internet storm.  <Beijing Youth Daily> contacted Electrolux and was informed by the company public relation specialist that Shi Jing is the assistant to the manager of the home electronics division and she is presently on leave due to mental pressure.

The third version is that a 42-year-old American man named Robert Kugler had a photo album, which contained photographs of other women as well (use Google to search for “jessica_confidentially site:pbase.com” and click on the cache).

There are many angry young people among the commentators. Here are some comments:

“The problem with Shi Jing is not that she posed nude, or she had intercourse with someone.  There are so many Japanese adult video girls, but why should any normal person scold them?  Shi Jing’s problem was that ’she wants to look aloof in front of her compatriots, but she acts like a dog in front of foreigners’.”

“Let us unite all our powers and find out the true identity of this foreigner.” (see 6park and Tianya)

As indicated already, this would not be too big a deal if this was just some photographs of an ordinary Chinese woman.  This case was dynamite because of two other factors: One, she works at an internationally renowned company.  Two, an American has been cavorting with Chinese women and that touches some nerves.

English ’sex blogger in China’ reveals his identity

English ’sex blogger in China’ reveals his identity.

Two years after he provoked a firestorm of internet outrage in China, an anonymous British blogger, who wrote about his sexual exploits with the country’s women, has decided to reveal his identity to the Guardian as he publishes a provocative new book.

David Marriott, who claims to be a graduate of Cambridge University, sparked an online campaign to out him after he set up a blog where, using the name ChinaBounder, he posted entries with graphic descriptions of his attempts to charm the women of Shanghai into bed.

The campaign drew thousands of people to ChinaBounder’s blog but despite endless speculation in the media and online, Marriot’s cover was never completely blown.

Now he has decided to emerge in an effort to promote a new book, Fault Lines on the Face of China: 50 Reasons Why China May Never Be Great.

The book itself will further add to Chinese ire as it rubbishes their country’s attempts to tout itself as a global force.

Speaking exclusively to the Guardian from an undisclosed “third country” in south-east Asia, Marriott confirmed for the first time that his alter ego was ChinaBounder.

“Modern China has displayed a history of over-reacting to any form of criticism, not just against the country or the Communist party per se,” he said.

“Chinese leaders have fashioned a response based on what they perceive the people of China to be, and a few elitists now often decide what offends people of the motherland.”

Looking back on the furore that his online accounts of sexual adventure in Shanghai had sparked among conservative Chinese, he said: “Chinese men were deeply offended by the blog, and I do understand why. In history, Chinese men have suffered greatly at the hands of foreign armies and now, philosophically, they feel they are being attacked in the bedroom. They see this as the battle for the very women they fought wars to protect.”

Zhang Jiehai, a professor of psychology at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences, who led the campaign, has urged Chinese readers not to buy it.

“ChinaBounder said he had fifty reasons to assume China will not be great,” said Zhang in an online statement. “In contrary, I have at least one reason to say Britain can be great. The reason is Cambridge University can train citizens like Mr China Bounder who love to show off the great thing inside his pants. Of course, by saying he is from Cambridge University is another piece of performance art. But one thing I believe in is that there is a chance for China to become great again, a far greater chance than for Britain.”

More than 17,000 people visited Marriott’s blog in the wake of professor Zhang’s campaign two years ago, but the book and its reaction have so far generated far less traffic.

Marriott, who visited Japan to secure his book deal before moving on to a secret location, said the confusion surrounding his identity at the height of the campaign to denounce him “gave me excellent cover”.

He insisted his decision to leave China was connected to his book deal and “differences between me the Shanghai police – a story best left to a later time”. The self-confessed Casanova said he had written his sexlog as a “mental purge and colonic for my sexual adventures” and in an attempt to secure his “fifteen minutes of fame”.

“Although it seemed cowardly at the time, not revealing who I was, those Chinese men who wished to protect women did not realise that the women I wrote about would have been torn to pieces by those very same Chinese men if their names had been revealed at that time along with mine,” he said.

Marriott survived the witch hunt and according to latest reports he is currently living in Singapore.

Woman takes revenge: Porsche for sale!

English woman takes revenge: Porsche for sale!

The ultimate revenge of a scorned woman, whose husband is an adulterer, is by selling his Porsche for a small price.

The English woman placed the following message on an advertisement site: “I caught my husband with the babysitter in his Porsche. And now I am selling his beloved Porsche. See what he thinks of that?” The car is worth about 70.000 pounds, but its selling price is a mere 2000 pounds. Also his collection of fine wines are for sale.

It remains unclear whether or not the two will divorce, but on the advertisement site she did state that she is through with her adulterating husband.
