In Dublin: Chinese brothels set to open up across Ireland

The Chinese brothels that have opened up in Dublin are set to take off across the country following a decision by the Director of Public Prosecutions not to prosecute two establishments operating in the capital.

As part of a Garda investigation, officers raided both establishments and in one found a man naked on a massage table.

Detectives traced the organisation of the two brothels in Dun Laoghaire to another brothel operating in the Fairview area of the north city. There they found a Chinese man in his 50s who had extensive operating details for the brothels which have sprung up across Dublin in the past two years. Most appear to be centrally organised and offer similar services.

However, following revelations in this newspaper, the women working in the brothels stopped openly offering their services and, it is understood, when a detective asked what services were on offer the girl in question made no reply other than “massage”.

The use of the euphemism rather than the open offer of sexual services appears to be the point on which the DPP has decided that it would not be possible to prosecute the cases in court.

The three young women and middle-aged man have been informed that charges are not to be brought.

As a result it seems that the traditional laws against prostitution in Ireland have fallen and so long as prostitutes do not openly offer services directly to clients at brothels they are free to operate.

The remaining vice laws that can be used concern only the promotion and making of earnings from prostitution contained in two acts of the Oireachtas passed in 1993 and 1997. These laws were used in combination to prosecute the magazine In Dublin in 2000 after it was found to be making €400,000 a year in advertising revenue from brothels in the city.

Since then the advertising of brothels has moved to the internet, though one publication in Ireland still carries up to three pages of adverts for Chinese “massage” centres.

Ironically, the new prostitution operations in Ireland have largely pushed aside the indigenous sex workers, particularly in Dublin. A former prostitute in Dublin who spoke to the Sunday Independent said that the Government and gardai are operating a form of discrimination against Dublin street walkers, who are regularly arrested.

The offence of soliciting or importuning in a street or public place for the purposes of prostitution under the 1993 Criminal Justice (Sexual Offences) Act is still regularly prosecuted by gardai, generally resulting in fines or short terms of imprisonment.

Despite these minor cases no major prosecution appears to be under consideration into the very major organised brothel operations in Ireland which are generally controlled from abroad.

In New Zealand: Opotiki teens jailed for raping Japanese tourist

A Japanese tourist was brutally raped and robbed in her bedroom by two teenage gang prospects, as her Opotiki host family watched television in another room.

Today her attackers Ranginui Rahi, 18, and Mark Hati, 16, both of Opotiki, were convicted and sentenced in Whakatane District Court to nine years’ imprisonment for rape and sexual violation. Judge Peter Rollo also sentenced them to four years’ jail for aggravated robbery to be served concurrently.

“It was a disgusting, brutal, degrading crime – a prolonged and violent attack on a young Japanese tourist to our country,” Judge Rollo said. He said Hati and Rahi had damaged their 22-year-old victim’s mana as well as physically injuring her internally and externally. “You treated her with degrading violence for your own sexual pleasure.”

Flanked by police officers, the teenagers stood with blank faces and hands clasped in front of them as the judge told how they broke into the Ford Street house on the night of August 31.

Rahi was armed with a baseball bat while Hati had a piece of firewood. Judge Rollo said they saw the host family watching TV and crept into the girl’s room to steal a laptop they had seen through the window.

Finding her in the room, they shut the door and each raped her several times and forced her to perform oral sex on them, all the while threatening her and searching the room for valuables, Judge Rollo said.The pair were caught by police two days later and entered guilty pleas soon after.

The judge said Hati had been prospecting for the Mongrel Mob since he was 13 and said he expected to become a patched member as a result of this offending when he was released from prison.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Standen said police would convey the outcome to the victim, who was still in New Zealand, as soon as she could be contacted and they had also been in touch with the Japanese Consulate.

American grandpa with children, abuses grandchildren

Authorities on Wednesday searched a rural property in western Missouri for bodies and buried glass jars containing notes written more than 15 years ago by children who may have documented sexual abuse by five members of their own family.

A 77-year-old American man from Missouri together with his 4 sons would allegedly have sexually abused 6 grand-children. Besides their own relatives, authorities won’t rule out the possibility of other victims among the abused or buried.

The abuse took place during the ’80s and ’90s.

Half of the women love anal penetration

According to a poll held by a Dutch female magazine called Viva, half of its readers have done anal sex.

The research was participated by 514 women. 48 Percent admitted in doing anal sex. But it doesn’t happen often. A quarter of them do it once a month, and only half do it once every six months.

Women as well as men take the initiative to anal sex. The women did indicate that sometimes it hurts. Also the women considered it a bit dirty.

Police in China have discovered underground workshops making counterfeit condoms

State media said that the condoms, which are packaged under the brand names of leading manufacturers, would provide little protection for users.

The discovery in Hunan province – where police found workers lubricating the condoms with vegetable oil in unsterilised conditions – led police to warn that they are looking to take about a million of the condoms off the market.

They said that the giveaway clue for consumers is that the counterfeit products have been found on sale cheaper than the legitimate brands.

China is better known internationally for its mass production of counterfeit goods, from handbags to DVDs.

But the raid and arrest of four people in connection with the condom operation will alarm the authorities in a country where HIV rates are relatively low but are feared to be in danger of increasing substantially among the general population.

Sex tape broadcast in West Ham London Tube station

In London, England: West Ham station commuters hear couple’s sex over loudspeaker.

Commuters were stunned as a major London station’s loudspeaker broadcast the sounds of a couple having sex.

It happened at West Ham station yesterday evening as passengers waited for c2c overground and District line Tube trains.

Receptionist Laura O’Connor, 28, was heading home on the eastbound District line. “We stopped at West Ham at about 6.45pm,” she said. “As the doors opened, I heard strange noises over the loudspeaker. It was definitely a couple doing it there and then. He was grunting loudly and she sounded like she was having a great time. The driver must have heard it, too, as the doors stayed open longer than usual.”

Commuter Ian McFee, 35, who was waiting for his c2c train to Southend, said: “A lot of people gathered round the speakers on the platform. No one seemed offended, everyone was just smirking.”

Tube bosses today launched an investigation as they revealed the Tannoy system had been turned off — yet the sounds continued.

A Transport For London spokesman said it appeared the loudspeakers had been tampered with, adding: “The incident heard by passengers did not emanate from London Underground property.

“Engineers attended and investigated the fault at the station which appeared to be caused by external interference to the public address system. The police are also investigating this disruption.”

Woman discovers she’s allergic to her husband… on their wedding night

In America: A new wife was given a nasty wedding night surprise when she discovered she was allergic to her husband’s sperm.

Mike and Julie Boyde had been going out for two years when they got married and decided to have unprotected sex for the first time that evening. But almost immediately the bride was in unbearable pain – and eventually they discovered it was because of Mike’s sperm.

Mike, 27, and Julie, 26, from Ambridge, Pennsylvania, started going out while at university and became engaged two years later, finally having a dream wedding in 2005.

But following the reception, as they enjoyed their first night as a married couple, things went badly wrong. ‘Before we were always very careful and used protection – this time we didn’t,’ said Julie, 26. ‘We figured, “we’re married, if we get pregnant, we get pregnant”.’

But she added: ‘Pretty much right after I knew something was not right because I was in a lot of pain. ‘The pain that I was feeling was inside, like somebody sticking needles up inside of me like a real painful burning. ‘It was really scary.’ The pain, and at times blisters, would go on for weeks, she said.

‘On a scale of one to ten, it’s pretty much ten,’ she said, describing the pain.

After numerous tests and doctors visits, the couple were eventually told that Julie suffers from seminal plasma hypersensitivity.

Dr Andrew Goldstein said: ‘The body recognizes the sperm as a foreign protein, like it would recognize a peanut allergen or a pollen so you have swelling, you have itching, you have inflammation of the nerve endings.’

It means that her body attacks Mike’s sperm, making it inactive.

The discovery shattered their plans to conceive.  But now, after a treatment failed, they have started adoption proceedings. The couple are featured in a Discovery Health documentary called Strange Sex, airing in the U.S. this week.

I was interested in working on her. It’s better than nature could do.”

Since her hubby’s last op, Cany has had a secret fourth boob job. But Reza has not ruled out MORE work – saying: “There may be some more in the future, like a facelift, but not yet.”

But Reza is wise enough to admit that he’s not perfect himself.

He said: “I inherited a big nose from my dad, so my business partner made me a new one. And I have Botox too.”

Lonely workers force sex into open

The plight of its migrant labour has made China confront the last taboo

In a rare instance of sexual frankness, a Chinese official has called for “conjugal homes” and short-stay hotels to meet the needs of sex-starved migrant workers in Guangdong, the province known as the “workshop of the world”.

The family planning official, Zhang Feng, said millions of workers lived a lonely existence away from their families and he encouraged them to use sex toys rather than the thriving prostitution industry. “In this province we have 30m migrants living apart from their wives or husbands whose hunger for sex has never been recognised by society or the government,” Zhang said. “If we go on like this our society will end up riddled with Aids, so I suggest that we provide conjugal homes and rooms by the hour and I also suggest using sex toys — it’s not shameful and it avoids disease.”

Zhang was speaking in a local newspaper interview to coincide with the opening of the seventh Guangdong Sex Festival, which is attracting hordes of visitors to an exhibition hall this weekend.

The festival breaks numerous taboos about the customarily reticent Chinese treatment of sexual matters while winning official approval by portraying itself as a forum for education and healthcare.

The educational aspects of its lingerie modelling show, easily the most popular attraction, were not immediately apparent but nonetheless drew an admiring crowd of young men.

On display were scanty underwear, inflatable dolls, medicines and sex toys, manufactured by the million in factories around the city.

Many are made by the very migrants Zhang was talking about — young people from the countryside who live in factory dormitories or cramped communal rooms, divided by gender and often policed by security guards.

“People who are full should understand those who are hungry,” said Zhang, whose titles include vice-chairman of the China Sexual Association, a professional body.

Supporters of the festival also argue that traditional Chinese culture had a rich vein of erotic poetry and prose, both refined and bawdy, before ideology and foreign prudishness suppressed its expression.

Visitors were treated to a display of ancient sexual aids modelled in jade, stone and wood, while classical illustrations of beauties and doe-eyed poets adorned the packaging of many modern plastic versions.

Chinese society is changing so fast that customs have overtaken attempts by the state to control people’s private lives beyond ordaining the number of children they may have.

Also attending the Festival was Dong Yuzheng, editor of the magazine Human Nature, who identified 10 changes to sexual and family mores during a panel discussion. The most prevalent was what he called “unstable sex”, such as one-night stands, prostitution and “second wives” — usually paid mistresses.

Second on his list was “deviant sex” which, in his opinion, included homosexual and transgender relationships. Both are legal in China. Then he said there were the 70% of youngsters who enjoyed a sex life but had no plans to marry, the 6% of couples who had no sex life at all and an estimated 15% of couples who wanted children but were infertile.

Dong added that test-tube pregnancies, breast enlargement and the artificial restoration of female virginity were all growing in popularity. Society, he argued, was also paying a price for personal liberation. Many children were packed off to grandparents or carers while both parents worked, “making their family relationships colder”.

He noted that every year more and more babies are born suffering birth defects from pollution. The divorce rate has also risen from 4% in 1979 to about 15% today. The rate in Shenzhen, a city in Guangdong full of migrants, is 36%.

Sex had also become an attribute of power and class, an echo of the way that China’s pioneering Marxists denounced the decadent ways of the old feudal society, in which rich men kept numerous concubines. Recently there has been a flurry of accusations on the internet against university professors who allegedly coerced their female students into sex in exchange for better exam grades or a place at college.

According to an academic, Lei Duo, there is an intimate connection between corruption and the keeping of mistresses. He said a study of recent cases indicated that nine out of 10 officials caught up in graft were using their ill-gotten gains to maintain a mistress.

One energetic city mayor in Hunan, a province of central China, was reported to have enjoyed the favours of 105 mistresses until he was hauled off by the police.
