This part of the site is currently in development.
But since you are here…let us ask you a few questions…
Being a world citizen:
1) How far is Beijing from Peking?
2) Is it allowed to smoke pot while standing next to a cop in Amsterdam on a sunny afternoon?
3) What is the speed limit on the main German highways?
4) Are you allowed to sell drugs in Amsterdam?
5) How do people in England call french fries with fish, and how do they call chips?
6) What do Americans put on their fries? And the A)British B)Dutch C)Belgians D)French E)Germans?
Answers:
1) It’s the same place! The difference here is the Mandarin spelling against the Cantonese dialect spelling.
2) Yes, it is allowed and the legal buying age for alcohol is 16, but there isn’t a law which prohibits drinking under the age of 14 or any age at all in Holland.
3) The main German highways, don’t have speed limits…in fact, they are limitless. And Germany seldom has highspeed car chases, since the German highways are monitored and the German police are excellent drivers, and they have police-Porsches.
4) No, being the land of “a-bit-more-free-than-others”, there are limits…so you are not allowed to sell drugs, but on the flipside, if you are a consumer/addict….you are allowed to buy drugs…but from who do you buy it from…(strange hey?)
5) They call it ‘fish and chips’; and American-styled-chips…they call crisps.
6) Americans use ketchup (=Chinese invention). A) The British use vinegar BCDE) the rest uses mayonnaise.
Respect differences…but don’t forget to have fun with it!!!
